JEDDAH – The Retail Asian Leadership Award 2012 in retail business was conferred recently on Mohammad Alawi, CEO of Red Sea Markets Co., owner of Red Sea Mall in Jeddah. He is the first Saudi nominated by the Asian Retail Union to receive the award. Alawi's winning the award was a result of his powerful leadership abilities, knowledge and energy used to strengthen economic status in Jeddah. The award recognized Alawi's efforts to make the Red Sea Mall Jeddah's most preferred shopping center and a tourist landmark that attracts costumers even from outside the city. “I'm proud to receive such an important award. This wouldn't happen without the industrious work of both two teams from the Red Sea Markets Company and the Red Sea Mall. I received endless support from the two teams. May success be ahead us and all the ambitious persons so we keep our country's name on the top in all international forums,” said Alawi. “The Saudi leadership cadres are qualified and capable to receive international awards since the Kingdom and its leader, King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, did not spare effort to provide best education and job opportunities to Saudis. We are capable to make superiority and achievements once the development tools are available,” he added. The Asian Leadership award is aiming to highlight entrepreneurs in 20 fields including the trademarks, quality and corporate social responsibility. The award is meant to enhance the economic growth and to find opportunities for owners of small businesses who look forward to develop their skills and businesses in Asia. The Award is also aiming to develop leaders and create new leaders who are capable to sustain the development prosperity process. – SG
