He also said that the country's leadership and its citizens consider Pakistan and its people close to their hearts. While talking to a group of overseas Pakistanis on Saturday, Ambassador Khan referred to his recent meeting with Prince Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz, Minister for Interior, and thanked him for supporting the Pakistan community in the Kingdom. The ambassador said they had discussed community matters including Pakistanis in Saudi prisons, sponsor disputes, Iqama renewal issues and the need for greater collaboration between the two countries' respective Interior ministries, for which Prince Ahmed issued instructions on the spot. Ambassador Khan said that Prince Ahmed also instructed, at his suggestion, that Saudi police and all investigation centers use translators during criminal interrogations of Pakistani nationals. The ambassador extended an invitation to Prince Ahmed to visit Pakistan and the latter accepted. Prince Ahmed said the two countries enjoyed an excellent relationship and praised the contribution of the Pakistani expatriate community to the development of the Kingdom. — SG
