Obama serves the interests of the rich
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 15 - 11 - 2012

AMERICAN voters are more concerned about their own interests and domestic policies than about foreign policy. In fact we can say that most Americans know little about the world's major political issues.
President Barack Obama has been reelected for a second term. This means that he played the role that was designed for him by the real rulers of America who belong to various blocs of lobbies and economic cartels. An example of this is the excessive use of force by US police to disperse protesters demonstrating in Wall Street in New York, a few weeks ago.
This was to serve the interests of the rich who are the real rulers of America.
Four years ago Obama addressed the Muslim world at Cairo University and his speech electrified Arabs and Muslims who were astounded to hear his words.
At that time, the speech was pilloried by the European media, which has a better understanding of Arabs and Muslims than the American administration.
What did Obama say on that day in his miraculous speech? He focused on seven key points — America's relations with the Islamic world and issues related to Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine, democracy, women, human resources development and religious freedom.
The speech was a superficial treatment of these issues which did not include any specific details or plans of action, because Obama was not authorized to involve his country in any obligations without securing the consent of the US administration or those working behind the scenes.
What Obama said resembled the words of his predecessors — Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., and Bill Clinton. However, George W. Bush openly declared the US administration's hostility to Islam and Muslims, and he widely opened the door to American rightwing extremists or Christian Zionists. He was mainly behind the post-September 11 events that were the biggest betrayal in political history to date, and were similar to the trick played by the Greeks with their Trojan Horse.
In the introduction to his speech, President Obama said that he would speak honestly and frankly for the cause of the right and the truth, which he said he was looking for. Did he do that?
Four years later, the world has yet to witness any breakthrough in resolving regional issues, especially the most serious issues — the Arab and Israeli conflict and Israeli threats against Iran.
After creating a passionately dramatic situation, Obama said in his speech, which has been described as “historic”, that he and his administration were committed to the establishment of two states — Palestine and Israel — and that the US would work to enable every country in the region to realize its goals and ambitions.
However, we would like to ask President Obama: Would you agree to allow Israel to realize its goals and establish a Greater Israel state stretching from the Nile to the Euphrates?
Do you have the ability to give the green light for the establishment of the Palestinian state with full freedom and sovereignty and to return the territories usurped by Israel to it, in addition to demolishing the wall of separation that has virtually divided the Palestinian territories into cantons so that they are not fit to be part of a state?
Mr. President, you did nothing positive. However, you pulled your occupation forces out of Iraq after igniting the fire of sedition in that country. You launched acts of military aggression against Sudan more than once, and destroyed Afghanistan and are now trying to divide it into tribal sects. During the last year of your first presidential term, you went to AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee), which hosts all Jewish organizations and associations in America, and offered yourself with obedience and loyalty to them, and they extended their thanks and greetings to you at the expense of helpless American citizens. Many believe that this is the reason you have been reelected. Likewise, you were relatively successful in shaking Arab regimes and creating disturbances, and then falsely calling it an Arab Spring.
In a previous article, I wrote: “What I want to say and my conviction is that there is no difference between US presidents, whether they are Republicans or Democrats. The issue simply is protection of American strategic interests, whatever they are and wherever they are; and that Israel's survival and protection is an indispensable issue and is also integral to protecting the strategic interests of America. Israel, a strong power, rests in the heart of the Arab world so as to protect Washington's interests in the region. The peace process, road map and all other terms are just illusions, plans and ideas to numb the Arab masses. In addition to this, the Jews do not want peace, because peace means the elimination of the myth of the Greater Israel”
So I repeat that any American president, whether he is a Republican or a Democrat, will not change US policy. He is simply someone who executes the instructions and plans of those rich Americans who rule the country behind the scenes.
