Hassan Tahsin With the beginning of September, the festival of American presidential election also kick-started. Will the incumbent Democratic President Hussein Obama get a second term in office or will the Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney bring back the extremist rightwing rule once again into the country? Anyhow, whoever be the president —whether a Democratic or Republican — that does n't make any difference. The important thing is who are the real rulers of America? So far, it is not clear who, among the two candidates, will win the election. But it is sure that one who prove that he can implement the dictates and requirements of the real rulers of America (the Jewish lobby) will be the winner. Politically, things are totally strange. The American rulers choose a president, who is half black and originally Muslim. That was what happened. Hussein Obama took over the US presidency with a list of his strategic missions to be executed, the top of which was the Arab-Jewish conflict.
At the time Hussein Obama stepped into the White House, America's relations with Islam and the Islamic states were strained with extreme degrees of hostility. In this scenario, a reception was hosted in Obama's honor at the Cairo University, Egypt, where he delivered a speech addressing the Muslims across the world. Some Muslims were delighted and saw in it a good signal. However, intelligent and wise people among Arabs and Muslims did not admire it as they realized that this speech was nothing other than an excellent theatrical performance. What happened after this? US President Obama forgot his speech and the promises he had offered in that address. He then turned to meet the demands of Israel and serve the interests of the real rulers within the country to the extent specified to him. As expected, President Hussein Obama landed in the dodging circle of Israeli rulers that relied on the Jewish negotiations through playing its role in a utopian peace process; and he started this delusive American activity. This was followed by sending prominent American political figures, such as Middle East envoy George Mitchell, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and National Security Advisor James Jones, to the region. Most people expected that this intensive diplomatic initiative is a strong signal from the US president with regard to his determination to keep the Arab-Israeli peace process on top of his agenda. Hussein Obama had not stopped with this but in the initial period after assuming presidency, he made a formal appeal to five major Arab countries to establish closer relations with Israel so as to restore confidence among the concerned parties. However, leaders of these Arab states rejected Obama's request. They said: “The Arabs have granted enough concessions to the Hebrew state without getting anything in return. But we expect from you a serious position to bring Israelis under control. You can no longer expect any initiative from our side in this respect.” It is unequivocal that the Arab response was convincing and just. It was a balanced reaction to the Israeli position of rejecting everything that is coming closer to peace. The US administration timidly tried to reinstate the so-called road map and demanded Israel to freeze building settlements in the occupied West Bank and the East Jerusalem. But the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defied this demand vehemently. By this, he gave a strong message that Israel would pursue its policy of Judaizing the occupied Arab territories after driving out of the local Arab citizens. This was in flagrant violation of all agreements signed by Israel and those agreements that Israel refused to sign, as well as in contravention of the world public opinion besides putting the Gaza Strip under blockade unto death. Interestingly, there are Arab leaders and cultural figures who believed that President Hussein Obama is the best among the US presidents for the Arabs in general and the Palestinian cause in particular. They endorsed what Mitchel said about Obama that he was determined to facilitate comprehensive and real peace among the Arabs and Israel. They forgot what the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz reported: “About 200 people, mostly children, have reached near Tulkarem municipality to set up a new illegal outpost. The Israeli army facilitated their illegal act and did neither prevent them nor interfere in their act. The newspaper continued: “The outpost is considered as one of the 11 outposts established on July 27 and 28 by the Jewish extremist movement called ‘The Youths for the cause of Israel.'” There was no comment from the part of the White House about this move! They also forgot that Hussein Obama agreed to the restore military cooperation with Israel, when the US Ministry of Defense (Pentagon) announced conducting test fires of Israel's Gate missile from the US missile launch pad off the coast of California. What I want to say and my conviction is that there is no difference between any US president, whether he is a Republican or a Democrat. The issue simply is protection of American strategic interests, whatever they are and wherever they are; and that Israel's survival and protection is an indispensable issue and is also integral to protect the strategic interests of America. Israel, a strong power, rests in the heart of the Arab world so as to reassure protection of Washington's interests in the region. The peace process, road map and all other terms are just illusions, plans and ideas to numb the Arab masses… In addition to this, the Jews do not want peace, because peace means the elimination of the myth of the Greater Israel… The White House knows this, but what I wish to declare is the fact that it knows it…! Therefore, I say and repeat that any American president, whether he is a Republican or Democrat, will not change the US policy; for him the interests of its rulers are the first and foremost. No one believes that Israel puts pressure on Washington, because Israel for Washington is just a clutch to keep the Arab Ummah in a black spring. — Hassan Tahsin is an Egyptian writer and political analyst.
