MADINAH — Inspectors from Al-Ayoun municipality in Madinah raided a number of workshops manufacturing foam without proper licenses and having necessary safety measures in place. The inspectors noticed trucks unloading foam and sofas in one of the farms at Al-Jarf area. On searching the farm, they discovered a number of workshops manufacturing sofa sets inside structures built for warehousing purposes. The inspectors learned that the workers were accommodated inside the workshops in total disregard for their health. On questioning, one worker told the inspectors that the warehouses were used as workshops for manufacturing house furniture. As the inspectors raided the warehouses, many workers managed to escape, but they were able to trace the owner. The inspectors handed over the case to security officials who were called to the site.
