Authorities launched a security campaign in the capital's Al-Salli, Al-Faisaliyah, Al-Bathaa, Al-Malaz, Al-Olaya and Al-Oraijah districts and arrested two Bangladeshi individuals working at an Internet café for possessing fake documents including two passports and an Iqama (residence permit). The café was closed down and its license canceled. Two Palestinians were arrested for possession of hashish. Three citizens were rounded up for not carrying proper IDs and a Yemeni was arrested for escaping at a checkpoint. Police also raided a warehouse where plastic water bottles were collected for crushing and export in the form of plastic pellets. Some 500 bottles were confiscated and the facility was closed down. Another large warehouse at Al-Salli District where air-conditioning compressors were collected was also closed down. Some 80 self-employed scrap salesmen were referred to the Passports Department. Sixteen cars were detained for violations and 162 traffic tickets were issued. – Okaz __
