Mishal Al-Otaibi Saudi Gazette RIYADH – Eleven people, who were previously released in terror-related cases, attacked and killed two border guards Monday morning in an ambush in Sharora in Najran Province south of the Kingdom, according to an Interior Ministry spokesman. First Class private Fahd Al-Hamandi and First Class private Muhammad Manee were shot dead during the shootout with the group of 10 Saudis and a Yemeni who were all carrying machine-guns, the spokesman said. Security forces arrested them while they were trying to cross the Saudi border and enter Yemen. Four of them were badly injured during the shootout. Identity papers belonging to the Saudi nationals showed they had all been previously imprisoned for “crimes and activities of the deviant group,” the spokesman said. The ministry identified the 10 Saudis as: Nahadh Khalid Ayedh Al-Otaibi (released on 07/07/2011), Muhammad Faraj Sulaiman Al-Eneizi (released on 31/08/2011), Khalil Hassan Yehya Al-Zahrani (released on 06/02/2012), Bandar Theear De'aij Al-Harbi (released on 17/02/2012), Abdullah Saeed Muhammad Aal Maroof Al-Sayaree (released on 11/04/2012), Muhammad Slem Awad Al-Sayaree (released on 18/05/2012), Fahd Muhammad Humood Al-Bikri Al-Shehri (released on 21/05/2012), Ali Abdullah Salih Al-Salamah (released on 13/06/2012), Issa Awad Ghazi Al-Otaibi (released on 20/06/2012), and Khalid Faisal Nafil Al-Otaibi (released on 14/08/2012). The spokesman said that it is the social responsibility of the families and those around them to ensure that the released persons do not pose any public threat. He urged the general public to report any suspicious activities or behavior. Earlier this year authorities announced it had busted two terror cells in Riyadh and Jeddah.
