AL-AHSA — King Faisal University (KFU) in Dammam has launched a campaign to combat the spread of so called “masculine” behavior among female students, said Dr. Elham Bint Abdul Aziz Al-Ghanam, dean of student affairs at the university. She said the “My Femininity Is a Source of Pride” campaign is meant to correct the behavior of female students inclined toward masculinity and preserve their feminine nature. She said social workers at the university have noticed these behavioral changes among girl students. Dr. Fatima Al-Houwayesh, the campaign's head and guidance supervisor at the university, said the initiatives includes religious, educational and psychological lectures; scientific seminars; workshops; and drama classes. She said the university like any other professional institution makes every effort to crack down on deviant behavior and attitudes outside and inside the campus. — SG
