Mishal Al-Otaibi Saudi Gazette RIYADH — The General Directorate of Passports has opened a new section inside the Ministry of Interior headquarters to allow the ministry's personnel and other citizens to use the ‘Abshir' on-line services. Dr. Muhammad Al-Salim, undersecretary at the ministry, visited the office and signed up for Abshir services, which provides citizens and expatriates with many electronic services without having to appear in person before the General Directorate of Passports. Dr. Al-Salim called upon all the personnel to do the same and sign up for the new free on-line services and benefit from them. The directorate seeks to provide citizens and expatriates with convenient services and spare them the time and effort of going personally to the directorate or one of its branches to check out or apply for a transaction.
