On Teacher's Day, the Student Cabinet of International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ), paid tribute to their teachers who mold them into better citizens and nurture them for a bright future. The program began with the customary recitation of a few verses from the Holy Qur'an followed by a speech from one of the cabinet members who highlighted the significance of teachers in a student's life and thanked the teachers for all the care, guidance, love and patience. A skit highlighting a teacher's role was performed after which, the teachers were also entertained to a few scintillating dance performances by the students. Rasha Jasmine of grade eight spoke about Dr. S. Radha Krishna who rose from the post of a humble teacher to become the second president of India. September 5 marks the birthday of the Krishna in India and thus it is celebrated as Teacher's Day because they are the ones who play an important role in the building of a nation. The vice-principal and the teaching staff were all felicitated with beautiful handmade cards by the students.The program came to an end with a vote of thanks delivered by another cabinet member. — SG
