Ahmad Abdullah Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – A judge looking into the case of the people accused of being involved in a terrorist cell granted interim bail to one of the accused, who claimed that he had confessed under duress. The judge asked the Prosecutor General to bring proof and evidence against the accused, who said that one of the wanted persons killed by security officers during a shootout was just an acquaintance. In the second session, accused number 20, who had joined a 29-member terrorist cell, appeared before the court. He was charged by the Prosecutor General with engaging in takfiri ideology, transporting wanted persons in his car and providing them shelter. In the trial of the 86-member cell, three accused appeared before the court Sunday. They were charged by the Prosecutor General with joining a terrorist cell, supporting Al-Qaeda, procuring arms and ammunition for the cell, and providing accommodation for wanted persons. One of them was also accused of concealing information about his brother who traveled to a country that was going through a turbulent security situation while another was accused of watching pornographic movies. The Prosecutor General accused one of them of cheating his parents to get money from them, participating in a jail break, and using his father's house to meet wanted persons. The Prosecutor General charged an accused person who joined a 29-member terrorist cell with engaging in takfiri ideology, joining a terrorist cell inside the country affiliated with Al-Qaeda, traveling to Afghanistan to participate in fighting, financing terrorism, providing shelter to terrorists, possessing a grenade to disturb the public peace, using his car to transport terrorists, concealing information about a terrorist cell in Madinah which possessed grenades and machine guns.
