The trial of terror suspects belonging to “Al-Khalidiya” apartment and “Al-Juwayir” terrorist cells continued Sunday. One of the “Al-Khalidiya apartment” cell members was charged by the Prosecutor General with raising over a million riyals and attempting to smuggle it outside the Kingdom and hand it over to Osama Bin Laden, the slain leader of Al-Qaeda network. The Prosecutor General demanded death sentences for all those involved in this operation. The suspect was also involved in operations aimed at disturbing public peace and was also accused of providing shelter to some dangerous terrorists whom he helped sneak into Iraq. He was aided and abetted by some other terrorists. All defendants belonging to the first cell were accused of joining a terrorist cell, embracing the Takfiri approach, creating chaos and sedition, participating in terrorist operations. The Prosecutor General demanded that the maximum penalty for money laundering and forgery of official documents be given to some defendants. The majority of “Al-Juwayir” cell members faced charges ranging from joining terrorist cells to financing terrorist operations. Some of them possessed a large quantity of weapons and ammunition in addition to explosives while others engaged in raising money at mosques with the intention to use it for terrorist operations. On Saturday, the Special Penal Court looked into cases against three terrorist cells: One involved in the “killing of French nationals”, the other called the “Al-Juwayir” cell and the third known as “Al-Khalidiya apartment” cell. The Prosecutor General leveled charges of sexual harassment against one of the defendants in Al-Khalidiya apartment terror cell. The Prosecutor General also demanded death penalty against five of the accused in the Al-Juwayir cell. Three defendants from the first cell attended the session to reply to the charges leveled against them. __
