Ahmad Abdullah Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – A medical team from the psychiatric hospital in Taif has confirmed that the third suspect accused of joining the 50-member terrorist cell was sane and knew what he was doing. The accused claimed that he suffered from psychological problems and was not responsible for the acts he committed. The judge who looked into the case previously decided to refer the accused person to a psychiatric facility to inspect his mental and health state. The medical team who examined him replied that the accused person was sane and did not have any psychological problems. The prosecutor general charged the accused with nine counts including engaging in takfiri ideology, joining a terrorist cell inside the country, plotting to assassinate two senior security officers and gathering information about them for this purpose, searching for a machine gun to kill the officers, providing a shelter to a terrorist who participated in the assassination attempt on a senior security officer in Riyadh, possessing 30 computer files containing instructions from Al-Qaeda leaders to carry out terrorist attacks in the Kingdom and plotting to destabilize the country by killing and carrying out terrorist acts. Another accused person was scheduled to appear before the court Saturday but failed to show up. He too was inspected by a medical team from the Taif hospital.
