RIYADH — Eight people wanted by security authorities have returned to the Kingdom and turned themselves in, thanks to the cooperation between concerned authorities and Prince Muhammad Bin Naif Center for Counseling and Care, the Interior Ministry announced on Sunday. Interior Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki said in a statement that one of the suspects was among the Kingdom's 85 most-wanted fugitives. He did not say when the eight turned themselves in. Al-Turki said the suspects' return was arranged with authorities in the countries they had fled to. “The Interpol has been notified of their return so that it can call off the search for them,” he said. The eight men were reunited with their families immediately after arrival in the Kingdom, the spokesman said, adding that medical checkups were carried out to ensure that they were in good health and to provide them with proper medical care if necessary. “Their willingness to surrender themselves to the authorities has been taken into consideration,” Al-Turki said, pointing out that they would be treated according to pertinent procedures. Al-Turki reiterated the Interior Ministry's call for other fugitives to follow suit. He urged them to “come back to their senses and stop being tools in the hands of the enemies of this country.” “Any initiative to surrender will be taken favorably,” Al-Turki said. — SG/SPA
