Abdul Rahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH – Al-Samer police have succeeded in solving the mystery of unauthorized cash withdrawals worth SR47,000 from a citizen's bank account. The victim had no idea how someone was able to regularly withdraw cash from his account and complained to the police. Investigators checked with the local bank and discovered that the transactions were made using the victim's ATM card. The victim told the investigators that he had lost his ATM card. Taking a cue, police requested the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency for video recordings from ATM machines in the district. To the shock of the victim, it turned out that the person who was stealing from his account was his best friend. The suspect confessed to the police that he learned his friend's password when the latter was making a withdrawal. He then stole the card from his friend's wallet and used it to withdraw money.
