QUNFUDA: Six persons of Arab nationality have confessed to stealing over SR63,000 from the bank accounts of mostly elderly persons by observing them at ATM cash dispenser machines and stealing their bank cards. Police in Al-Qouz, 35 km to the south of Al-Qunfuda, said that they set up surveillance teams after receiving reports of a group targeting ATM users and exploiting the “naivety of some users who write down their PIN codes”. The purported “gang leader” was detained by officers as patrols observed his movements near an ATM machine. “All the arrested have admitted to their crimes and are expected to stand before the court soon,” a police official said.
