Civil Defense teams here evacuated 21 people trapped in six apartments in a blazing 3-story building on Monday. The firefighting teams used cranes and retractable ladders to evacuate the residents to the roof of the building as fire-fighters tried to douse the flames raging in an apartment in which a woman and her children were trapped. Rescuers entered the blazing apartment and plucked the mother and her children to safety. They were suffocating from smoke inhalation and taken to hospital.
