RIYADH — A 14-member Riyadh Cricket League team is in Pakistan to take part in Dr. M.A. Shah Night Trophy 2012 Cricket Tournament in Karachi. The team was selected from the teams playing in RCL under the supervision of RCL President Mamoor Elahi with the support of RCL Executive Committee. In all 16 teams are participating in the tournament. While 12 teams are local, four are joining them from Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, the UAE and Qatar. The tournament started on the first of Ramadan and most of the matches will be played under floodlights. RCL will play its first match on Aug. 1 with other matches scheduled for August 3 and 4. These will be shown live on GEO Super. The teams are divided into four groups. The Riyadh Cricket League team is paired with A.O. Clinic Karachi, Brother CC Dadu and Kashmore CC. The main sponsor of the tour is Power Zone Co., while the co-sponsors include MBR, Al-Eid, Amaq Contracting and Saeed Iqbal Est. The team was named in the presence of Mamoor Elahi, President of RCL. Razaur Rahman, Senior Advisor, and Shamshad Siddiqui, honorary member, congratulated the selected players and wished them success.
