Samsung introduces smart HVAC solutions as summer approaches
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 11 - 07 - 2012

Park JaeCheon, General Manager, Samsung Electronics KSA
JEDDAH – Samsung Electronics, a market leader in semiconductor industry and award-winning innovator in consumer electronics, recently presented an array of award-winning, state-of-the-art air conditioning solutions to meet the growing market demand for air conditioners in Saudi Arabia. Samsung exhibited the various HVAC products - split ACs, window ACs, floor standing units, air purifiers, Digital Variable Multi (DVM) and central air conditioning - during a press conference held at Park Hyatt Hotel in Jeddah.
As summer is just around the corner, Samsung Electronics offers a series of 'smart' air-conditioning solutions to beat the heat. "The air conditioning range we offer in the Middle East has been developed specifically for the exacting conditions of the region," said Jinhyuk Oh, AC Business Manager, Samsung Electronics Saudi Arabia.
"With painstaking planning and testing we set about developing the perfect line-up of air conditioners for our customers here in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East generally. We have achieved that goal. Samsung is the leader in this field, but we have raised the bar even higher." Samsung is revolutionizing the digital appliance sector, drawing on its expertise and sweeping success in areas such as mobile phones and TVs to bring Smart technology to appliances.
Samsung's Smart appliances are ahead of the game, anticipating and adapting to human requirements.
DVM comprises a new generation of multi-zone modular systems using variable capacity compressor and multiple indoor evaporators. DVM ACs includes the world's longest piping length, largest capacity, smallest footprint, turbo intercooler and DVI compressor. The units in the Kingdom's showrooms are unique, having been specifically tailored to the Saudi market. Indeed, the compressor reaches optimum performance and withstands heat up to 54 degrees Celsius.
Vivace and Crystal are the top-of-the-range split ACs, both featuring Virus Doctor and Full high density (HD) filter. When air has been filtrated Virus Doctor cleans it again, ensuring a fresher and healthier environment. Virus Doctor eliminates up to 99 per cent of biological contaminants in the air while the HD filter collects up to 90 per cent of dust and bacteria.
Samsung says Vivace "brings a taste of the future to your home" because of its advanced technology and flat smoked mirror panel result in "this air conditioner being modern elegance." Turbo and Max complete the line-up of superb split ACs.
Mirage and Queen lead the field in floor standing AC units. Mirage's touch screen display is particularly popular as it allows users to easily control direction of air flow and adjust temperature. It also features filters with high density which increase efficiency while removing allergens and bacteria. Powerful air flow from four directions by the Samsung product means there is no need for more than one AC as coolness reaches every corner of the largest room.
Window AC cabinets are prone to rust in areas of high humidity but Samsung's products are coated with an original anti-corrosion agent to prevent rust and to ensure long durability. The anti-corrosion fin condenser is designed with strong corrosion-resistant material to protect it from rusting. – SGSamsung's Ultra Tropical (UTR) compressors in the window cabinets are 10 per cent more powerful than conventional compressors. They are equipped with a torque motor and are designed to withstand all weather conditions. Samsung's Window Type ACs also remove humidity, a major comfort in the Saudi summer months.
And when you take a deep breath it's always a pleasant one when Samsung's air purifiers are on hand. They eliminate airborne virus and bacteria, neutralize harmful active oxygen and eradicate allergens.
The air purifiers are more than just 'smart' - they are stylish and safe. The latest, which comes in a wide variety of vibrant colors, has rounded corners in case someone bumps into them.
With one touch setting to dust, sleep, 'deodo' or auto mode, customers can have a healthier and cleaner home environment. Quadruple premium filters ensure fresh, clean air all day.
"We listen to our customers and we respond to their needs in the creation of our products. We're proud that we can make life so smart and comfortable for so many people in Saudi Arabia all year round, but especially in the peak summer months," added Oh.
