Nada Al-Maddah Saudi Gazette MAKKAH — The department of support services at the Makkah Mayoralty has foiled an attempt to smuggle and sell 150 kilograms of rotten meat into the city. Hassan Balbuaid, director of general services, told Saudi Gazette that his department received information about a vehicle carrying large quantities of meat and heading toward Makkah. A team was dispatched to the scene near Wadi Noman northeast Makkah and the van was stopped and searched, he added. The expatriate driver was transporting the meat from Taif to a big restaurant at Al-Aziziyah Al-Janoubiah district. Over 150 kilograms of expired meat were seized and disposed of, Balubaid noted.
