SUMAIRA — Four people were killed and two others injured in separate accidents in various parts of the Kingdom Friday.
On Sumaira Road near Hail, one man and his wife died after their Toyota pickup overturned after colliding with another vehicle. The injured driver of the second car was rushed by a Red Crescent ambulance to Al-Shannan Hospital.
Patrol police and Civil Defense rescue teams had to work hard to remove the body of the pickup driver trapped in the mangled wreckage. His wife was taken to King Khaled Hospital in Hail with serious injuries, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A youth breathed his last when his vehicle lost control and overturned several times near Al-Me'airiyah town, south of Barig governorate. Traffic Department personnel and security patrols who arrived at the scene moved the youth's body to a hospital morgue.
In a separate accident in Barig, an old man was knocked down near a shop by a speeding car driven by a youth.
The old man was trying to cross to the other side of the road when the GMC truck hit him. The impact was so strong that the man fell several meters away from the spot and died instantly. One motorist volunteered to take the body to Barig General Hospital.
Meanwhile, one man suffered multiple injuries after his Toyota Cressida plowed into a restaurant in Al-Azizia District of Hail Thursday night after colliding head-on with a Mercedes. The two motorists were reportedly speeding on Al-Gharbiyah Road.
