Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region, has accepted the convening of the Second Scientific Symposium to be organized by the International Islamic Relief Organization-Saudi Arabia (IIROSA) on Thursday during the conclusion of IIROSA's 7th General Assembly Meeting at Crown Plaza Hotel in Jeddah. Adnan Basha, secretary general of IIROSA, said the symposium will be held from 4:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. following the General Assembly which will convene at 11 A.M. Invitations for participation in the symposium have been sent to media personnel, social activists, and those working in charity and humanitarian fields, in addition to members of the General Assembly. The Secretary General said that the symposium will feature live discussions on two subjects; the first one to be presented by Ali Al-Namlah on the “Role of Governments in Developing Poor Societies” while the second subject, presented by Undersecretary of Makkah Governorate Abdul Aziz Al-Khudairy, will reflect on the “Role of Non-Government Organizations in Developing Poor Societies”. Meanwhile, the secretary general of IIROSA said over 200 members from Saudi Arabia and abroad are expected to attend the General Assembly meeting on Thursday. The meeting is being held under the chairmanship of Dr. Abdullah Al-Turki, secretary general of the Muslim World League (MWL). A number of ministers, Islamic scholars and personalities from Morocco, Yemen, Thailand, Nigeria, India, Kenya, Uganda, Sudan will attend the this year's meeting, Basha said. __
