Okaz/Saudi Gazette IT'S over. Our diplomatic spat with our Egyptian friends has been solved. For instigators who were trying to fish in troubled waters, I say go fish somewhere else! Diplomatic relations have been reestablished and everything is back to normal. There is no point in fixating on a small argument when the Kingdom and Egypt has so many points of mutual benefit and agreement. Many lessons can be learnt from the recent events which were exacerbated at the outset but, thanks to the wisdom of both sides, ended amicably at the end of the day. Both sides initially found themselves swept away in the events and things almost got out of control but eventually the issue was resolved. This is not the first time we've had our disagreements with Egypt and definitely won't be the last. Our relations with Egypt are so intertwined that it is impossible to avoid minor differences here and there. However, in case a disagreement is to occur in the future God forbid, we must identify the disagreement and tackle it with logic and wisdom, and not sentiments or fueled by blind patriotism. Of course, instigators will always take advantage of such situations to create chaos and problems. But it will be our folly if we are to listen to their provocative statements. What matters today is that we set our eyes on the future. The Arab world is going through a significant juncture of its history. We should stick together. If the Kingdom becomes weak, Egypt will suffer the consequences and vice versa. If we allow anyone to interfere in our bilateral relations, we'll be committing a historical crime against not only the Kingdom and Egypt but the Arab world as a whole. Any differences occurring between both countries are bound to have ramifications on the entire Arab world. May Allah the Almighty save and protect our leader King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, whom we love very much and whose wisdom unites all Arabs. May Allah protect the Kingdom and Egypt against any harm! __
