King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has sent the following message to Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak. Dear brother President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, President of Arab Republic of Egypt. Allah's peace and blessings be upon you. I am extremely pleased over the news that your excellency, our brothers in the Palestinian Authority, brothers in Hamas, and Palestinian factions have reached “the correct and sound way” towards the solution and reconciliation for the interest of our Palestinian brothers in particular and Arab and Islamic nations in general. Undoubtedly, the efforts exerted by your excellency clearly indicate that Egypt of the free and proud people, Egypt of Arabism and Islam under your wise leadership has played its hopeful and expected historical role as a government and people and proved, as it is customary, its continuing determination to find a solution for the Palestinian-Palestinian disagreement. Tiredness and weakness have had no way to the watchful mind of Cairo. This is a grace bestowed from Almighty Allah upon you and the brotherly people of Egypt. We congratulate your excellency and our brothers in Egypt and we congratulate ourselves with you as supporters for the issues of Arab and Islamic nations. I seize this opportunity to commend my brothers in the Palestinian Authority led by brother President Mahmoud Abbas, brothers in Hamas and all Palestinian factions without exception on this achievement in which reason has dominated and emanated from belief in Almighty Allah, the unity and destiny of the common cause, renunciation of whims of the soul which calls for evil and the temptation of the Satan. It is time that they say to the Arab and Islamic nations and the whole world that they are greater than the wound, far from disagreement and more able for reconciliation and also say that the unity of the Palestinian ranks as a word and stand are such as fastened cemented structure in response to Almighty Allah's call who says, “And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves and remember with gratitude Allah's favor on you for ye were enemies and he joined your hearts in love, so that by his grace ye became brethren.” Yes, we and they will say to the whole world that the conscience of wisdom and logic of reason have been as two horses on a bet that cannot be reached or deterred by the obstacles on the way and the stumbles of the envious ones hateful to our Arab and Islamic nations. This bet cannot be won by the losers who do not want the glory of our nation, the unity of ranks and the achievement of the objective. We convey to them all our love and the happiness of their brothers, the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We congratulate them and ourselves on this achievement which necessitates that all should unite to reach a final solution that will transfer us to new horizons of our joint Arab march. Your excellency brother through this blessed step, we address the whole world and say to its leaders and peoples that the dominance of reason in every enmity or disagreement is necessary everywhere in accordance with the teachings of Almighty Allah revealed to his messengers and prophets (peace be upon them). These messages are eternal such as the truth. They ordain the dominance of dialogue over disagreement, logic over whim, and reason over ignorance. They do not exclude any creatures, and indeed they are directed to all humanity. Almighty Allah says, “O mankind We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things.)” S. 49 V. 13. We hope that this good call will find repercussions all over the world so that peoples will unite in a world that renounces evil, fights crime and terrorism, and calls for love and tolerance and so that humanity awakens to witness a bright future enjoying safety, security, peace and coexistence between nations and peoples. Praise be to Almighty Allah. We convey our sincere appreciation and cordiality to your excellency, the brotherly people of Egypt and all our Palestinian brothers.
