A Saudi national has accused an Arab nurse working for a private hospital in Jeddah of killing his daughter by administering the wrong medication. Ahmad Al-Amri said his daughter Solafa, 12, was admitted to the hospital after vomiting for two days. The emergency doctor referred her to the nurse who allegedly gave her the wrong injection. “We have no idea what type of injection was given to our daughter. But once she was injected, she died in nine minutes.” The medical report attributed the cause of death to severe infection and a breakdown in blood circulation. Abdul Rahman Al-Sahafi, director of the information department which receives citizens' complaints at Jeddah Health Affairs, said the department will conduct its own investigation. “If the investigation indicates that the girl died due to a medical error or negligence, the case will be referred to the Committee of Medical Errors which will decide on the matter.” __
