Sami Badawood, Director of Jeddah Health Affairs, has said that a head nurse who alleged that the hospital where she works made several medical errors was moved to another post by the Ministry of Health and not his own department. Badawood said that investigations showed the woman's claims to be false and that she was guilty of photographing patients' private files. She was then moved to a position as a clinical nurse in the nursery section. The nurse herself, however, says that she has been in a “psychological war” since she first brought her claims to the attention of the hospital director. “Important documents proving my innocence and implicating the hospital disappeared,” she said, citing a “dispute with the hospital director”. “The dispute occurred because I discovered errors that had harmed several patients, including a child who died after being given an overdose injection, and three ladies who had their ureters ruptured during chidlbirth.” She said the errors were due to the “surgery team that handled the operations and a lack of monitoring”. The former head nurse said, however, that she was in possession of documents proving her claims.
