Investigators from northern Jeddah Police have accused the Arab expatriate, who alleged he was stabbed by unidentified African nationals in his apartment, of attempting to commit suicide. They claim that the man, who works as a butcher in a shopping center, tried to take his own life because his marriage proposal to a girl of the same nationality was rejected by her parents. Brig. Gen. Misfir Al-Je'aid, spokesman of Jeddah Police, told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that the investigation conducted by the security authorities increased suspicions of a suicide attempt. Al-Je'aid said the expatriate used his experience as a butcher to try to slaughter himself. He said the expatriate's neighbors did not hear any shouts for help nor were there any signs of a scuffle. __
