Egyptian community members in the Kingdom have slammed the media campaign in their home country in defense of Egyptian citizen Ahmad Al-Jizawee, who was arrested at King Abdul Aziz International Airport and is under investigation. In their cables sent to King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, of which the Saudi Gazette has obtained copies, they said: “We, the sons of the Republic of Egypt, who reside in the Kingdom, appreciate your historic and brotherly stand toward Egypt. We also appreciate your constant care of the sons of the Egyptian community, who live in the Kingdom, and the great services offered to pilgrims in the holy sites, which are witnessing the largest-ever expansion in the history of the Two Holy Mosques. We condemn and deplore the methods being practiced by some media agencies which merely fish in troubled waters and seize any opportunity to spoil the brotherly relations between our countries.” They added in the cables: “These odd voices will never ever affect the historic relations and the higher interests which bring our two countries together. We respect you and the brotherly Saudi people as well as your judicious government.” They also said that nobody is above the law and that they have great confidence in the Saudi judiciary. __
