Almost 200 Filipinos are set to graduate soon from Information and Communication Technology (ICT) courses provided by the Computer Society of Filipinos International, Inc. - Eastern Region Chapter (COMSOFIL-ERC). COMSOFIL-ERC will be awarding certificates of completion to 197 enrollees on its 12th graduation ceremonies to be held at Al Jazeera International School, Dammam on April 13. The 2012 Board of Directors Induction will also take place on the same day. Labor Attaché Atty. Adam A. Musa of POLO-ERO is set to induct the 16 new members of the Board and will serve as guest speaker. COMSOFIL-ERC officials to be inducted include President Wilfredo S. Banania, Vice President for Education Johnny C. Arches, Vice President for Membership Atelano C. Radaza, Vice President for Engineering Teodoro S. Cardinoza, Vice President for Finance Romeo G. Santos Jr., Secretary Edgar T. Aquino, Public Relations Officer Resurreccion O. Ramos, Auditor Gabriel O. Ababat, Medical Service Chairperson Ronaldo B. Ayup. Directors to be inducted are Gerry P. Poral, Peter S. Nadado, Felix R. Salazar, Jr., Artemio A. dela Rosa, Isabel R. Rancap, Isabelita T. Apostol and Josefino S. Hinayo. These members run the affairs of the society with the guidance of the Board of Trustees composed of past presidents Vernon DC Balverde (2011), Ronald F. Acosta (2009), Lorenzo Jr. S. de Leon (2008) and Edwin F.A. Cruz (2006- 2007). Other support staff, namely the instructors and other volunteers, will receive certificates of appreciation for sharing their ICT expertise and technical know-how with overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). The skills upgrade and training are designed to make OFWs globally competitive and give them livelihood opportunities for their eventual return to the Philippines.
