Graduates of computer learning and IT programs with Labor Attaché David Des T. Dicang and officials of Comsofil.Around 500 Filipinos in the Eastern Province received certificates of completion in two graduation events separately organized and convened by the Overseas Filipino Workers Congress in Eastern Provinces (OFWC-EP) and the Computer Society of Filipinos (Comsofil), two of the largest Filipino organizations in the Kingdom. The OFW Congress conducted the following courses over four weekends: How to establish business enterprises in cooperatives; Franchising; Agro-industrial business; and Product marketing. The sessions also included financial management and the sourcing of funds to finance proposed business ventures. Comsofil held classes for several weeks on PC and Laptop Assembly, Introduction to Networking, Windows Server 2008, Basic and Advanced Word and Excel 2010, Photoshop CS3, Web Design HTML Programming, AutoCad-2D Basic, and Security System-CCTV. The OFW Congress presented certificates of completion and recognition to some 290 Filipino workers who finished the sessions on entrepreneurship projects, while Comsofil awarded certificate of attendance to some 240 Filipinos who took subjects on computer and information technology. The graduation ceremonies, held last weekend on the same day but separate occasions at the Al Jazeera International School in Dammam, were attended by community leaders in the region and their families. Present during the two graduation events were officials of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Eastern Region led by Labor Attaché David Des T. Dicang. Dicang handed over the certificates of completion to the graduates of the two entrepreneurship events. OFW Congress president Mary Jane Pajarillo Tupas, executive Vice President Chito Arcilla, and Vice President for strategic planning and good governance, Dr. Gener Benter, assisted Dicang in the distribution of the certificates. Comsofil president Vernon DC Balverde, Vice President for education Wilfredo S. Banania, Public Relations officer Dr. Resurrecion Ramos, and members of the Comsofil Board of Trustees, helped out Labor Attaché Dicang in the distribution of the certificates of graduation. Filipinos in the Kingdom, particularly those who have spent ten years or more here, are now eyeing business ventures they can engage in on their return to the Philippines. The holding of seminars on business projects and livelihood programs is part of their preparation to finally return back to their country. The Philippine government has also packaged economic reintegration support programs for returning home Filipino workers.
