A Red Crescent ambulance crashed into an electric pole near Bani Sar town Thursday plunging all nearby towns and villages into darkness and sending all three individuals on board, the driver, the paramedic and the patient, to the hospital. It was raining heavily in Al-Baha when the tire blew out suddenly causing the ambulance to careen off the road and smash into an electric pole, which provides electricity to nearby towns and villages. The patient on board had been involved in a traffic accident and was on her way to Al-Baha General Hospital when the accident took place. Four police patrols and three traffic teams were dispatched to the site to organize traffic flow while Civil Defense rescue teams were placed on standby. Al-Baha General Hospital was put on full alert following the accident and the three injured individuals, once they had been admitted, were treated by orthopedic surgeons. Fahd Saleh Nahi, director of public relations at the hospital, said recommendations were given to doctors to provide the injured with the necessary treatment and to discharge them once their condition improves. Emad Al-Zahrani, director of public relations, Al-Baha Red Crescent, said the tire exploded all of a sudden sending all three persons on board to the hospital with different injuries. __
