A motorcyclist, who died in an accident at Durrat Al-Arous resort a few days ago, was actually hit by a Kia car being driven by a Saudi woman, Brig. Hamid Al-Raqeeb, Deputy Director of Jeddah Traffic Police, told Okaz/Saudi Gazette. He said the woman came by herself to the Traffic Police office in Jeddah and confessed that she hit the motorcyclist, Muhammad Mansi, who died on the spot. The traffic authorities have released her on bail and an investigation will be opened into the incident. Sahl Abdul Hameed, Mansi's friend and an eyewitness, said he was driving his car in the company of his family at 3:30 P.M. on a street inside the resort when he saw his friend riding his motorbike. He saw him being hit by a speeding red car. The impact was so strong that the motorcyclist was thrown many meters away. Abdul Hameed said he stopped his car and rushed to the scene. He found that Mansi was already dead. He reported the matter to the resort's security. Talal Al-Ghazali, Director of Public Relations at the resort, said he arrived at 4:00 P.M. at the resort and saw a motorcycle on the ground and behind it was a motionless young man. He said when he checked the pulse, he found that he was already dead. Abdullah Mansi, the victim's elder brother, said Mansi, who was a 19-year-old secondary school student, was very disciplined and was never known for any violations. Muhammad Mansi's family is receiving condolences at its residence at Al-Showfiah District in Makkah. His father said he will never pardon the killer. __
