Ecstatic annual day celebrations at WuroodAl Wurood International is the first of its kind in the city of Jeddah to introduce a distinctive curriculum - CBSE International (CBSE – I), an internationally benchmarked global curriculum that is skill-based and learner-centric contributing to the inter-disciplinary structure for local and global perspectives.
The CBSE-I is of international standard with a target to produce global citizens. Its prominent perspectives promote a comprehensive learning and provide all kinds of learners an opportunity to excel in different dimensions and aspects of learning.
The first Annual Day of CBSE-I zone was celebrated under the banner CBSE-I Day on March 7. The Chief Guest was Munawarunnisa Nazneen, a freelance journalist, and Sulfina Ashraf and Shameem Rahamatullah were the Guests of Honour. The chief guest galvanized the students by her inspiring speech on what education is about. Dr. Sereena Jalaludeen, the vice principal enlightened audience about the school's performance. The staff and the students organized a rich cultural program that included speeches, songs, dances, role plays, magic show, documentaries and power point presentations; it was indeed a jubilant celebration.
Sheba Mary Mathew and Justa D' Mello organized a talent show. An exhibition that demonstrated the talents of the students through projects on various concepts.
CBSE- I train whistled around the auditorium and attracted the attention of the audience. The day had a grand closure with the Saudi and Indian National Anthems. The day turned to be a red-letter day in the annals of school history.Lively English Literary Quiz at IISJ
‘The English Literary Quiz' for grades six to eight was held in the International Indian School, girls' section, on Feb. 5 in the presence of the principal, Syed Masood Ahmed, vice principal, Farah and head mistresses of various blocks of both the sections.
The program commenced with a famous fairy tale ‘Snow white and the seven dwarfs' which mesmerized the audience and took them to the world of fantasy. It was followed by “the English Literary Quiz', in which there was stiff but healthy competition between the teams, namely, Milton's Mind Blowers, Shakespeare's Intellectual Pursuers, Shelley's Shrewd Observers, Eliot's Ingenious Thinkers & Wordsworth's Inquisitive Innovators - named after the legends of the English literary field.
The quiz consisted of four rounds ‘brain teasers, audio visual activity and rapid fire. Milton's Mind Blowers bagged the first position and the runner up was Shakespeare's Intellectual Pursuers who were felicitated and given trophies by the vice principal of girls' section.
The program came to an end with a spectacular portrayal of some eminent personalities in the field of English literature. __
