The second industrial city in Jeddah was inaugurated Wednesday by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region. He also laid the foundation stone for the third industrial city in the presence of the Jeddah Governor Prince Misha'l Bin Majed and Commerce Minister Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al-Rabeah. Prince Khaled said 20 million square meters have been allocated for the second and third industrial cities. He promised more spaces will be given to help create job opportunities for men and women. “The Saudi Industrial Property Authority has provided industrial lands to businessmen and investors who should seize this opportunity and create sustainable industrial projects,” the Emir said. Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabeah, Minister of Commerce and Industry, said the cities will meet the huge demand for industrial lands. Al-Rabeah said the third industrial city is expected to attract 900 factories and an investment of SR15 billion. “These projects will create thousands of job opportunities for citizens,” he said. He also announced that another five million square meter industrial city will be built in Asfan, near Jeddah, at a cost of SR50 million and a three million square meter city will be built in Rabegh at a cost of SR30 million.
