Saudi Telecom Company (STC) Group participated in the Connect Arab world summit, organized by the International Telecommunications Union, in collaboration with the Arab League and the Qatari Supreme Council for Telecommunications and Information Technology, which concluded in Doha recently. Arabic-speaking countries' top officials including heads of states, premiers, heads of regulatory bodies and senior executives in addition to prominent magnates of telecom industry and regional as well as international organizations, also participated in the summit. Dr . Saad Bin Dhafer Al Qahtani, Group CEO for strategic operations presented a paper which focused on the Group's initiatives by providing advanced infrastructure, modernizing the Internet and roll-out of cybernetic knowledge in the society. These initiatives, he added, take place to cope up with the accelerating changes and developments in the communications and information technology. Connect Arab states summit is the third of its kind in the context of the initiative of interconnecting the world by the International Telecommunications Union, following Africa's interconnection and the Commonwealth interconnection 2009.
