Engineers delivered lectures on various topics during the professional seminar program organized by the Indian Engineers Forum (IEF) - Jeddah Chapter on March 1 at the Consulate General of India here. Indian Consul General Faiz Ahmad Kidwai, the function's chief guest, acknowledged the role of Indian engineers in the Kingdom. He invited the forum of Indian engineers and chartered accountants to foster trade and bilateral relations between their home country and Saudi Arabia. Mohammed Sayeeduddin, IEF — Jeddah Chapter President, presided over the function and echoed Kidwai's advice for engineers to play a vital role in the development of Saudi Arabia to help strengthen bilateral relations. IEF Vice President Anjum Iqbal highlighted the scope of work, projects and roles of Indian engineers in the Saudi economy. He encouraged engineers to learn Arabic and advised them to focus on research and development programs from which both countries may mutually benefit. Muazzam Sayeed, vice chairman of the IT subcommittee, stressed the importance of certification courses for engineers, exploring the benefits of the Six Sigma certification. Syed Mansoor, joint coordinator of electrical faculty, described the registration procedures for the Saudi Council of Engineers. Ahtesham Hussain, IEF member, discussed photographic memory techniques to aid in memorizing large amounts of data. Mir Atiqur Rahman, IEF General Secretary, announced that IEF Jeddah plans to provide coaching sessions in April for PMP preparation. Syed Nasir Khursheed, chairman of the civil faculty, conducted the function while Mustafa Khan, chairman of the electrical sub-committee, delivered the vote of thanks.
