Jeddah chapter organized a “Professional Seminar” in Jeddah Thursday. Shakeel Ahmed, Indian Consul for Education and Culture, was the chief guest. In his presentation, Eng. Ramesh M. Tharwani spoke about Green Building, a new concept in building construction that is fast catching up in the West. He explained its basic theme, that is, to utilize natural resources and materials having recycle contents for construction purposes. He said the concepts of Green Building are being implemented at the King Abdullah Economic City. Dr Zishan Husain Khan, professor at the King Abdulaziz University elaborated on the impacts of nanotechnology in every walk of life. The third speaker, Mufeed Khan, spoke about the ‘Seven Habits' based on a popular book by Steven Covey. Eng. Mohammad Sayeeduddin, president of IEF, in his speech, highlighted the achievements of IEF during the last three years of the forum's functioning. He also spoke of the need for self improvement and coping with personal and work-related stress. In the end, mementos and certificates were presented to all the speakers. The event was attended by members of the Pakistan Engineers Association and a large number of engineers among others.
