Muslim worshippers performed Eid Al-Fitr prayer at mosques and special prayer grounds throughout the Kingdom Sunday morning, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman performed Eid Al-Fitr prayer at the Grand Mosque in Makkah with more than 2 million Muslims from around the world. Yemeni President Abd-Rabboh Mansour Hadi, former President of Maldives Mohammed Waheed, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Commander of the Military Operations of the Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism Raheel Sharif were among the worshippers. A number of princes, including Prince Bandar Bin Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman, Prince Faisal Bin Turki Bin Abdullah and Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, scholars, sheikhs, ministers and senior civil and military officials also performed the prayer at the Grand Mosque. Sheikh Saleh Bin Humaid, imam and khateeb of the Grand Mosque, led the prayer. In his Eid sermon, Sheikh Bin Humaid congratulated Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. He prayed to Allah Almighty to accept their fasts and prayers. He said Eid was a happy occasion for those who obeyed Allah Almighty and focused on doing good deeds. Sheikh Bin Humaid said the prevailing security and stability in Saudi Arabia as well as the solidarity among its citizens arouse hatred in those who harbor malice against the Kingdom. "Allah's protection of this country and the wisdom and firmness of its rulers cause fear in the hearts of the country's enemies who are lying in wait," he added. Bin Humaid praised the Kingdom's brave security men and soldiers who protect its borders, the two holy mosques and the holy sites. In Madinah, over a million worshipers performed Eid Al-Fitr prayer at the Prophet's Mosque. Madinah Emir Prince Faisal Bin Salman and Deputy Emir Prince Saud Bin Khaled Al-Faisal were among the worshippers at the Prophet's Mosque. Sheikh Hussein Al-Asheikh led the prayer. Delivering the Eid sermon, Al-Asheikh urged Muslims to take advantage of the festive occasion to communicate with one another, exchange greetings and give up ill will and hatred. "The Eid is a call to spread happiness, mercy and kindness," he said. Al-Asheikh warned against the plots being hatched against the country of the two holy mosques. He added that those who harbored malice against this country were carrying out a tendentious media campaign full of lies against the country. "Every Muslim must understand that Saudi Arabia is the country for all Muslims of the world. Therefore, enmity against this country is enmity against all peace-loving people. Any threat to this country's security will have repercussions for Muslims all over the world," Al-Asheikh said. "Hosting Haj and Umrah is a responsibility Allah Almighty has bestowed on the Kingdom and therefore it is a symbol and pride for all Muslims," he said. Al-Asheikh said the Muslim nation was going through a wave of changes, upheavals and crises while the land of the two holy mosques remained at the heart of the Muslim world. "Any attempt to harm this land emanates from an evil desire by the enemies of Islam to divide the Muslim Ummah and destroy its unity," he said. Al-Asheikh warned against sedition or incitement that threatens the security and stability of Muslim countries and said it was obligatory for Muslims to stand united against anyone who dares to infringe upon their sovereignty. He called on Muslims to cooperate with Saudi Arabia for the good of all. He urged the citizens of the country to rally behind their leaders. In Riyadh, Emir Prince Faisal Bin Bandar attended the Eid prayers at Prince Turki Bin Abdullah Mosque. Regional emirs and officials joined the worshippers in Eid prayers in their respective provinces and cities. — SG/SPA
