RIYADH — A senior prominent NRI Aliuddin Ahmed hosted Iftar dinner at Lunch Box Restaurant and dedicated this event to Abdul Rahman Saleem, president, Hindustani Bazme Urdu, to recognize his services for the promotion and upliftment of Urdu language. Chief Guest Dr. Hifzur Rahman, first secretary at Indian Embassy, said that he knows Saleem from his initial days in Riyadh almost a decade back, and was happy that he was continuing in his efforts to promote Urdu. Rahman said HBU used to conduct speech and essay writing competition in Indian schools and they organized many events in Urdu. Recently Saleem formed WhatsApp group and is using this platform to promote Urdu language effectively. The host Aliuddin Ahmed welcomed the guests and appreciated the selfless efforts of Saleem for the promotion of Urdu language. Saleem thanked the organizers for the honor and said that it was the joint efforts of all that has helped boost the language and this would have not been possible without help and support of other members. Mohammed Farooqui Shabaz made arrangements for the event, while Mohammed Mubin, Javed Ali, Syed Masood Ali, K.N.
