‘Ek Sureeli Shaam' turns out a big blockbuster

RIYADH — Javed Ali Afroz and Raheem Uppala together hosted a colorful Musical Night under The title "Ek Sureeli Shaam" here to welcome the summer season.
The concept was by Anchor Javed Ali Afroz, known for his stylish presentations in all three languages English/Urdu/Arabic, and he was ably assisted by singer Raheem Uppala, who kept the music lovers of Riyadh spellbound for more than three hours.
In order to be irreplaceable one has to be different, this was the theme that led Javed to begin the evening with the title music he selected " Ek haseena thi ek deewana tha...." It set the mood in a wonderful audience comprising members of Indo-Pak fraternity.
Rania Javed a XII grader from IISR and daughter of Javed introduced her father on the stage. Raheem, a celebrated singer and a disciple of late Mohammed Rafi, presented selected Bollywood old and new hit songs, solo as well as duets.
Malini Iyer, Sarita Mohan, Kabir and Ather Sanu all sang and enthralled the audience with their melodious numbers.
Javed led with the number "Har karam apna karengey aye watan tere liye, dil diya hai jaan bhi dengey aye watan tere liye."

These numbers received huge applause from the audience. Architect Abdul Rahman Saleem – Patron OUAAR, President Hindustani Bazme Urdu and Mohammed Quaiser – President THH and OUAAR were the Chief Guests. Kundanlal Gothwal AGM Air India was the Guest of Honor. They congratulated Javed on organizing a big musical hit.
The hit song of the evening were the Qawwalis - Parda hai Parda and Jai Ho which kept the audience captivated.
On this occasion Rida Family Restaurant Muzzafaruddin (MUJJU) managing director and Mohammed Ather Ali presented gift vouchers to singers and some community members. Safa Makkah and Al Kabeer presented gift vouchers and hampers to the singers.

Prominent personalities including Mohammed Shabaz Farooqui, Mohammed Kaleem, Abdul Majeed Lala, Mohammed Mubin, Muzzaferuddin, Mohammed Rafeeq, Dr. Mohammed Ashraf Ali, Abdul Subhan, Sultan Mazharuddin, Gulam Jaweed, Senior Banker SABB, Mohan K. Ponnath, Taher Bin Jaffer, Taqiuddin Mir, Syed Kareem Khalid, Aftab Nizami, Dr. Sayeed (PAK House) and large number of Indian and Pakistanis families were present. Afroz proposed the vote of thanks.
