Four hundred facilities of the Justice Ministry will be computerized; contracts worth SR1 billion have been signed to turn the facilities into e-courts. Justice Minister Dr. Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Issa made the announcement while opening the headquarters of Jeddah General Court, Al-Hayat newspaper reported Sunday. “We'll work hard to develop the system and reach the level to compete globally,” he said. “We, at the same time, will improve services provided to service seekers.” Al-Issa said the contracts are part of the King Abdullah Project for Development of Judiciary System. He stressed that the ministry is keen to depict and illustrate the image of justice in the Kingdom to other foreign countries. “We have great confidence in our rulings and legal procedures. The Kingdom has been among the top countries that process cases without delay. Besides, we rank first in terms of the time taken for courts to transfer ownership of property.” The focus now is on training and enhancing the concepts of monitoring and self-assessment for the ministry's personnel, he added. Al-Issa also said that over 70 electronic services were available on its website and many more online services will be available in the future.
