Tunisian Prime Minister Hammadi Elgebali said Saturday that Tunis revolution was not a goal by itself and no one wishes to have a revolution in his country because it is costly. He said the revolution was created by the needs of the people and not by outer factors. “These needs are still raising, so there is no point for us to export our revolution to others.” The statement came during his visit to the Islamic Development Bank headquarters in Jeddah Saturday where he and his accompanying ministers listened to a presentation about the benefits the bank gives to its members. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, IDB president, said although Tunisia participates by less than 1 percent of the bank capital, it is one of the founding countries of the IDB. However, Elgebali said the revolution came to correct this situation. “IDB is ready to fully support Tunisia in its new era and to enforce the Islamic banking which proved to the world its safety despite the latest world financial crisis,” Ali said. “In the past decades, Tunisia was deliberately kept away from cooperating with its neighbors and this organization which deprived its own people from benefiting from the basic services such hospitals, schools, roads and water,” Elgebali said. “We feel that Tunisia has the manpower and the minds needed to raise the country, but still, this is not enough without the support of this bank,” he noted. __
