Amjed's ton in vain for Thales in WPCA event

JEDDAH — Amjed of Thales Group blasted a ton but his team failed to win in the third week hostilities of the WPCA event. Stallions, Indomie United Cups, Al Mazroi Salonpas, ATC, MM Group and Bihar International Fighters emerged winners in Morning Summer as OMD Tuskers and Lothers triumphed in the Afternoon Summer matches.
Stallions had the better of Al Saudi Green by 5 wickets. Al Saudi Green was bowled out for 152. Mazhar Abbasi hit 27 before the team was reduced to 73 for 5. Nazeer Farooqui hit 30 and Waqas 27. Stallions gave away 26 extras. Talha took 3 for 26 and Jahanzeb 2-7. Stallions reached the target (153 for 5) in 115 balls. Mansoor made 25, Hassan Ali 17, Jahanzeb 39 and Aqeel unbeaten 32. Owais took 2-16.
Indomie United Cups thrashed Super C C by 90 runs. Indomie plundered a massive 251 for 6. Tariq Siddiqui hammered 60 in 24 balls and Aijaz Butt smashed 68 in 32 balls and the two made 125 in 50 balls for the opening stand. Ziad then hit unbeaten 64 in 28 balls and Alam 15 n.o. Hayat scalped 3 for 30. Super Cricket Club made 161. Hayat scored 38, Waseem 20 and Umair 19. Ibaad took 3 for 9, Ahmed 3 for 28 and Bilal 2-38.
Cousins XI defeated Al Mazroi Salonpas by 5 wickets. Al Mazroi Salonpas posted 157 for 8. Salman made 31, Farook 19, Asif 20 and Abdullah 38. Aqeel took 3 for 14 and Haider 2-11. Cousins XI hit 162 for 5 in 108 balls. Aqeel stroked 44, Haider 20, Haroon Rafique 19, Naveed Qamar 22, Salman unbeaten 21 and Irfan Khan 21 not out.
ATC beat Arcoma by 27 runs. ATC piled up 178 for 6. Babar Rana hammered 64 in 29 balls, Abdul Raheem 22, Mukhtar 16 and Kashif unbeaten 54 in 35 balls. Aleem took 2-27 and Pervez Abid 2-38. Arcoma managed 151. Abdi Pervez hammered 51 in 55 balls, Kaleem 22 and Ayaz 37. Babar took 3 for 26, Shahzad 2-31, Sajjad 2-21 and Shahbaz 2-24.
MM Group thrashed Jeddah Tigers by 7 wickets. Jeddah Tigers was restricted to 93 for 8. Tahir hit 30 and Waheed 23 not out. Raheem grabbed 3 for 22. MM Group got 94 for 3 in just 75 balls. Ijaz topscored with unbeaten 50 in 28 balls with 9 fours, Jabran 19 and Imran unbeaten on 15.
Bihar International Fighters beat Hyderabad Strikers by 9 wickets.
Hyderabad Strikers posted 163 for 4. Aman Jaweed smashed unbeaten 58 in 57 balls and Irfan Ayazuddin 72 in 43 balls with 7 fours. Moin grabbed 4 for 24. Bihar International Fighters achieved 166 for 1 in 91 balls. Zia blasted unbeaten 91 in 46 balls studded with 7 sixes and 6 fours and Faisal remained unbeaten 55 in 40 balls as the two made 159 in 83 balls.
Afternoon Summer:
OMD Tuskers prevailed over UCC by 8 wickets in 84 balls. UCC made 126. Wajid hit 25 and Abrar 61 in 42 balls. Mohammed took 3 for 12, Dani 3 for 26 and Mahesh 2-19. OMD Tuskers coasted to 127 for 2. Shamsudddin stroked 39, Mahesh 27 and the two added 71 runs before Khadiri hit unbeaten 40.
Lothers scraped through by 6 runs against Thales Group. Lothers racked up 198 for 6. Yasar scored 32, Shamsuddin 25, Shibu 47 and Mushtaq 51 in 38 balls. Yasir took 3 for 30 and Ali 2-45. Thales Group fell short by just 7 runs. Amjed blasted unbeaten 109 in 53 balls with 4 sixes and 11 fours as he added 130 in 69 balls for the 3rd wicket with Yasir, who made 51 in 36 balls. Earlier Shams made 15. Nasir took 2-39.
