Saudi Gazette MAKKAH — The Executive Courts in various parts of the Kingdom have, in the first six months of the current Hijra year, received as many as 219,001 applications to implement court rules concerning financial disputes and have forced defaulters to pay about SR98.8 billion, the Justice Ministry announced in a statistical report on Monday. The ministry said the courts had received 117,018 executive applications and collected about SR51.8 billion during the same period last year. The reports said the applications rose by 87 percent and the collected cash increased by about 90 percent in the first half of the year compared to the same period the previous year. "This is due to the expansion of the judicial electronic services and the implementation of the "paperless" courts," the report said. According to the report, there were 68,297 executive applications in Riyadh where some SR37.6 billion were collected and disbursed among the claimants. It said Makkah occupied second police with 51,848 executive applications and SR37.5 billion collected cash. The report said there were 30,724 applications in the Eastern Province where SR15.6 billion were collected. The executive applications in Madinah Executive Courts were 16,139 to demand SR2.3 billion while Qasim had 10,426 cases for SR1.3 billion. The courts in Asir Province received 9,735 executive cases for SR995.9 million and Jazan had 6,315 cases to the tune of SR342.4 million. In Al-Jouf, there were 5,526 executive applications at the amount of SR253 million while in Tabuk the applications were 5,402 for SR1.5 billion. According to the report, the Executive Courts were able to reduce the period of litigation from months to 72 hours only.
