A student from the Bangladesh International School English Section (BISES) - Riyadh has garnered several awards for his exceptional performance in the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) held in June last year. Faisal Masum received the following awards: Top in the World in Mathematics, Top in Saudi Arabia in English as Second Language, and Top in Riyadh in Chemistry and Accounting. He also ranked first among the Best Across Seven Cambridge IGCSEs (International General Certificate of Secondary Education). IGSCE is “the world's most popular international qualification for 14- to 16-year-olds. It develops successful students, giving them excellent preparation for their next steps in education, including progression to A and AS Level study, and equips them with skills for immediate employment. Cambridge IGCSE is recognized by universities and employers worldwide,” according to their website. Masum was born and brought up in the Kingdom. He credits his parents A.K.M. Masum and Farzana Yeasmin as well as his teachers for his great achievement. Principal Mohamed Hussein said BISES-Riyadh is proud of Masum. The school and its recently formed board of directors will continue to serve and improve its academic standards with the addition of new faculty members, he added. On behalf of the CIE, the British Council in Riyadh will soon be holding an Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards ceremony in the city to honor Masum. __
