Finance, Freight, Travel win Kanoo League matches

Division Cricket League (WP) for 2011-12 kicked off with Finance nudging Freight by 17 runs and Freight trouncing Travel by 7 wickets in the first week matches.
Kanoo Finance openers Merchant (11) and Thabrez (14) batted sensibly. Ami Khan then opened with a six and made 26. The other contributors were Rafiq (13), Nabil (21 – 3 sixes) and Jerome (14 n.o.). Freight's Mushtaq picked 6 wickets for 24 runs with a hat trick and was supported by Rayis and Imran to restrict Finance to 126-9 in 15 overs.
In response, Freight openers Oliver 15 and Nasir 12 gave a good start and veteran Wahid Khan (17) and Raees (10 n.o.) followed it up but the team failed. Finance bowlers Sami Khan picked 6-18, Nabil 2-26 and Thabrez 1-8 to restrict Freight to 109-9. Man of the Match: Mushtaq of Freight.
Kanoo Travel lost it opener quickly but skipper Arif (17) and Adnan kept the scoreboard ticking. They were well supported by Zubair 23 to post a respectful total of 120-9. The pick of Freight bowlers was Imran (4-30). Hameen, Raees and Oliver picked one wicket each. Freight reached 121-2 in just 10 overs. Hameen topscored with 37. Fazal hit 42 n.o. to take their team home by 8 wickets. Travel bowlers Ranil (2-22) and Adnan (1-24) toiled hard. Man of the Match: Imran of Freight.
In the 2nd week matches, Finance cruised past Maersk Lions by 22 runs, Freight rolled over P&IP by 3 wickets and Travel flew past Commercial by 10 wickets.
Finance openers Thabrez 86 (11 fours & 3 sixes) and Merchant (17) blitzed the rival's attack. Sami Khan made 11 and Nabil 19 n.o. to put up a big total of 164-3. Ashfaq (2-46) and Asad (1-35) bowled well for Maersk Lions.
In response, Maersk Lions lost their openers cheaply but the middle order batsman Nawab (52) fought a lone battle to end up at 142-9. Nabeel (4-37), Sami Khan (3-3) and Thabrez (1-20) bowled well. Man of the Match: Thabrez of Finance.
P&IP openers skipper Razi (26) and Junaid (28) put up 55 runs. But Freight bowlers Mushtaq and Jayasuriya claimed 2 wickets and Hameen and Rayis got one each to bowl the rival out for 129.
In response, Freight lost wickets at regular intervals. Opener Oliver 62 stood firm with Donald (11). Wahid Khan hit a six in the penultimate over to power his team to victory by 3 wickets.Raju claimed 3-37, Imtiyaz 2-32, Najaf one and Fazlu one. Man of the Match: Oliver of Freight.
Commercial slumped to 52 all out as Travels bowler Ranil rocked it with 5 wickets for just 8 runs. Riyaz 17 was the only one who contributed something. Ranil was supported by Adnan (217) and a wicket each by Wasafi and Shami.
In turn, Travels openers Aleemuddin (34 n.o.) and Arif (11 n.o.) coasted home in 3.4 overs.
