Saudi Gazette The Olive and Olive Oil Festival in Al-Jouf was extended longer than its scheduled time due to the overwhelming response from residents and tourists from across the Kingdom. The festival which finally came to an end two days ago is estimated to have received 500,000 visitors. The sale of olives and olive products crossed SR36 million, making a record number since the initiation of the annual festival five years ago. The Director of the organizing committee for the Olive Festival, Eng. Muhammad Bin Hamad Al-Nasser, said, “In accordance with the wishes of the Governor of the region, Prince Fahd Bin Badr, the Olive Festival was extended for an additional ten days. “This extension provided an excellent opportunity for the olive cultivators in Al-Jouf, as they sold all of their olive oil supply. I extend my thanks and appreciation to every individual and company who helped and cooperated to make this year's festival such an immense success.” __
