Imran Sarwar ton in vain as Safri win in WPCA afternoon event

JEDDAH — Zultec pipped Crown Steel and IDB Group trounced AOT in the WPCA Premier T20 tournament.
Zultec clipped Crown Steel by 4 runs with Zultec hitting 223 for 2. Waqar M. scored 29 and Amir Sajjad compiled 65 in 33 balls while Shahbaz Rasheed remained unbeaten on 57 off 34 balls and Anis Malik too remained unbeaten on 59 off 29 balls. Crown Steel gave chase but were held to 219 for 7. Faiq Habeeb hammered 56 in 33 balls and Nadeem Amin cracked 50 in 24 balls. Hussain Bhatti (27) and Shafaqat (24) batted well but Crown were always behind the asking rate after slipping to 153 for 6 in the 16th over. Wajahat Shah took 3 for 49 and Mohammed Tayyab 2-22.
IDB Group downed AOT by 8 wickets. AOT posted 172 for 7 with Faisal Mehmood (35) Qaiser Lateef (35), Maqsood (40) and Naeem Shah (29) leading the way. Shabbir took 2-42. IDB Group chased down the target hitting 176 for 2 in 101 balls. Fayyaz smashed 78 in 34 balls (3 sixes and 8 fours) in the 140 in 83 balls opening stand with Syed Aziz, who hit 70 in 40 balls (2 sixes and 7 fours). Rameez took 2-36.
Afternoon T 20
Imran Sarwar ton could not save Nestle Milo as Rehan and Hasanat Ahmed of Al Safri stole the show. Waqas Malik, Lothers, OMD Tuskers and Natcom emerged winners in the WPCA Afternoon Tournament.
Waqas Malik XI beat APF by 3 wickets. APF was bowled out for 143. Majed Khan stroked 24, Ehtesham 34 and Adnan 33. Abdulrazzaq took 2-27. Waqas XI made 144 for 7 in 114 balls. Rana Haroon topscored with 54 in 39 balls and Zahoor got 27. Fareed hit 25 n.o. Umar took 3 for 29.
OMD Tuskers defeated Fuchs Al Hamrani by 5 wickets. Fuchs Al Hamrani totaled 175 with Zeeshan hitting 88 in 47 balls (2 sixes and 7 fours). Earlier Ghafour hit 22 and Nazaish 29. Mohammed grabbed 2-37 and Kabeer 2-23. OMD Tuskers got 177 for 5 in 115 balls. Kadhiri slammed 67 in 46 balls, Shamsu 29, Mahesh 22 and Kabeer 19 n.o. Mohsin had 2-24.
Lothers beat UCC by 34 runs. Lothers piled up 193 for 8. Moazzam Shoukat stroked 21. Bilal made 34 and Badushah (21). Mohammed Asif topscored with 59 off 28 balls and Mushtaq got 27. Shahnawaz Khan took 2-30, Ahmed Faraz 2-37 and Amir Mughal 2-41.
United Cricket Club managed 159 for 9. Shahnawaz Khan slammed 59 in 43 balls. Wajid remained unbeaten on 22 and Jibran 16. Asif took 5 for 15 runs.
Continental Transport Company posted 145. Natcom in reply rattled up 146 for 4 in 87 balls to win by 6 wickets. Muneeb hammered unbeaten 60 in 34 balls, Owais 26 and Abdul Basit 22.
Al Safri thrashed Nestle Milo by 8 wickets. Nestle Milo posted 211 for 3. Imran Sarwar blasted unbeaten 111 in 58 balls (5 sixes and 8 fours, Ijaz Butt hammered 49 and Mohammed Yasser scored 34. Al Safri reached 212 for 2 in 109 balls. Rehan blasted 82 in 49 balls (6 sixes and 4 fours) and Hasanat Ahmed, who remained unbeaten on 78 off 43 balls (3 sixes and 8 fours), racked up the runs. Aftab Malik remained unbeaten on 20.
