JEDDAH — Speakers enthralled the audience with their eloquent speeches and oratory skills in the Area 16 , Division-K Annual Contest held recently at Jeddah in line with the theme "Believe it, Achieve it". Twenty three speakers from four toastmasters clubs, Galaxy of Stars Advanced, IISJ Ladies, King Abdul Aziz University and Prime Toastmasters Clubs participated in the contests in four categories: International speech; Table Topics Speech; Humorous Speech; and Evaluation Speech. All participants had moved into area level after winning contests conducted earlier by their respective clubs. Zainab Mulji won the first place in International Speech contest, Sahar Waris and Zeeshan Khan won second and third places respectively. In Table Topics speech contest, which require the speakers to deliver extempore speeches, Zainab Mulji was adjudged the first place winner whereas Loloah Al Asmary and Sahar Waris won second and third place respectively. The Humorous speeches, entertained the audience with their spontaneity and humor. Zainab Mulji got the first prize In Speech Evaluation contest, speakers highlighted their listening skills and gave productive feedback on the speech by test speaker Ameen Alraffah. Zainab Mulji once again won first place, while Sahar Waris and Zeeshan Khan got second and third place respectively. The first and second place winners in all of the four categories will participate in Division K Annual Conference, which will be held on March 25. Contest Chair Samia Khan, declared the meeting officially open and welcomed the Toastmasters and guests. In his welcome address, the Area16 Governor Aqeel Jamil briefed the audience about the achievements made by the clubs in the Area during the year and urged Toastmasters to believe in themselves to achieve their goals. Division K Director Abdul Sami motivated the audience with his talk and emphasized that winning is a continuous process, as long as one participates one is a winner. The Keynote Speaker was DTM Joey Villanueva, who recalled the extraordinary efforts and the growth of Toastmasters in Saudi Arabia. DTM Rashid Ali Director PQD of Dstrict 79 and District PRO DTM Jhnnygene also spoke on the occasion. Past Division Governor DTM Reggie Magga delivered a motivational address and showed ways in which toastmasters can attain their goals in life and their journey of Toatmasters. The event was hosted by a senior toastmaster DTM Glen Sibag, who was assisted by four contest masters; Khaleel Ahmed, Riyaz Sarang, Osman Omer, and Samia Aqeel Khan and other seasoned toastmasters, Mohan Kumar, Riyaz Sarang, Osman Omer and Abdul Sami were the chief judges.
