Two Saudi students were found dead on Saturday in a garage near their off-campus residence in Rockford, Illinois. Mohammed Mufti, 24, and Amjad Balkhair, 21, who were first-year Rockford University students, were found along with their car. Head of the Saudi student club Faisal Al-Anzi told Al-Arabiya English that investigations are underway. Mufti was studying biology, while Balkhair was studying computer science. Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz said he found no visible signs of foul play. The Winnebago Co. Coroner's Office said the two were found shortly after midnight Sunday at 1035 McKnight Circle in their garage. The Rockford Fire Department said carbon monoxide levels were elevated in the garage. Rockford University released the following statement: "Rockford University received notice from Rockford authorities this morning regarding the death of two of current students, Mohammed Mufti and Amjad Balkhair, both from Saudi Arabia. Authorities have confirmed that the two men died last evening, March 18, at their off-campus apartment. Police are investigating, but no foul play is suspected. No further details are available at this time."
